PROTOTYPING | ACES IN THE COCKPIT
As we started assembling the Aces In The Cockpit desk, we embarked on the painstaking process of testing, adjusting, altering, rethinking and finetuning the plethora of intricate mechanisms that make out the adjustment.
This process proved to be far more time-consuming than we anticipated, so we reluctantly had to scrap our initial timeline in favor of succeeding in this phase. In particular the mechanism that fixates the desktop movement to strictly vertical proved challenging to say the least.
The details of the desk top continued to evolve, however, with elements such as the leather lining, straps, brass fittings, woodwork and the riveted lids with the characteristic louvres.
Even though we couldn't yet start the paint finishing, we still enjoy the fascinating process of building this sub-zero desk.
Just some more elbow grease and tlc to get the desk to where we want it to be. Next update might take a while, or could be right around the corner... So do keep an eye on the news page!
