WEDGED WONDERS | FASTEN YOUR SEATBELT
Sometimes the obvious thing to do is already there right in front of you, hiding in plain sight. Being down the rabbit hole of a design process of the Wedged Wonders desk, we needed an office chair to complement the concept visuals. But we were unable to find an existing chair that could add just the right amount of context for the outlandish desk design. So we quickly came up with a digital sketch of our own, roughly based on the seating of the Lamborghini LP500 Countach.
As we proceeded digging further into the development phase of the Wedged Wonders Desk, we started receiving a lot of positive feedback on the chair. Although we were quite enthusiastic about the initial chair idea, we knew that our main focus was needed on the development of the desks. So it took us a while to realize that we should start focussing on this chair more seriously.
All good intentions, but time is precious and projects won't finish by themselves. So without forcing it, we will take it step by step with the time available. But the first ideations look promising!
The chair will follow the same concept as the desk, to create that quintessential 70's wedge-design feel of the iconic concept cars of that era. Just like this very first ideation sketch, the final design will fit the desk like a glove. A driving glove, that is!
