CARRY ON ENGLAND FIELD TRIP | NOVEMBER 19/23 2022
We just finished a 5 day field trip to the UK where we met some amazing people and got to know some fantastic companies. Since we are in the final stages of designing our third production desk, The Triple C, the time was right to get ourselves familiar with the production process of high end carbon parts..
So what better place to start our study trip then with the very talented Alastair Gibson of Carbon Art 45 in Brackley. Not only do they produce pieces of art, the man and his workshop are also true pieces of art themselves. After an overwhelming day with this master craftsman, he took us around the corner to Luzzo Bespoke for some inspiring chats with the equally talented people there.
The next day we visited some companies at the Bicester Heritage Center. Along the way we crossed the famous Harry's Garage junction and made a picture ofcourse!
Our final meet up was in Old Dalby at KS Composites. Here too we ware amazed at the level of professionalism and enthusiastic and warm welcome they gave us. Talking all things carbon for a few hours we headed of to Caffeine and Machine to think it all over with a couple of beers..
On our way back home we had a coffee and design break at Podium Place where we watched the last Grand Prix of the season. Then we unexpectedly met one of the Managing Partners who kindly invited us on a tour through the premises, showing us the brand new Podium Paddock. What an unbelievable place they have there!
Fueled with inspiration by all the fantastic encounters with these kind and passionate people, we started our journey back to the Netherlands. It truly exceeded our expectations and we definitely want to come back with our final designs a.s.a.p. to discuss the prototyping process in more detail.
